[unpadchoir.com Bandung, 11/5/2024] The Padjadjaran University Choir will again hold a Vocal Recital Concert on 26 & 27 April 2024 in the Multipurpose Room Building 2, Unpad Dipati Ukur Campus offline. At this Vocal Recital, PSM Unpad gave the audience the option to choose to watch the performance on the first day or the second day.
Vocal Recitals are musical events that provide a forum for Unpad Choir members to process and develop by demonstrating their vocal abilities, usually in the form of classical songs or opera. In Vocal Recitals, vocal singers display their vocal skills in various ways, from good vocal technique to strong emotional expressions.
The title of this vocal recital is “Farfalla” which means butterfly in Italian. The metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly provides a very valuable lesson for humans who want change in themselves. Butterflies are animals that are synonymous with beauty. Likewise, Unpad Choir always shows the beauty of harmony and the beauty of various other aspects when appearing on various occasions. Singers show that they have their own potential when their potential is developed. To develop their potential, singers prepare approximately 1 month by continuing to study, practice and improve their quality in singing to perform their best on stage. The perfection of the butterfly metamorphosis process can be likened to the efforts that singers strive to achieve the best performance on the day of their performance, thereby giving birth to a beautiful and meaningful work.
One of the singers, Fitria Putri Utami, admitted that she learned a lot from this Vocal Recital. “There are many positive things that can be taken from singing in a choir or singing solo, namely increasing self-confidence, believing in one’s own abilities, as well as how we learn quickly, take direction, and interpret things through singing or gestures or expressions on stage. “I also learned how we can overcome unwanted x factors that might occur on stage professionally,” said Fitria.
Fildzah Safirah Izzah, one of the Vocal Recital singers, also expressed her impression of how she felt after her performance was over. “My first vocal recital was a very memorable and challenging experience, because I had to fight hard to achieve maximum results. Even though the results were not perfect, I am very proud because I fought hard and didn’t give up until the end.” Fildzah also added, “My preparations were very intensive, starting from learning to sing independently, vocal lessons, practicing with a pianist, to the committee for the continuation of this concert. In fact, I had to be mentally prepared to be able to go up on stage with confidence.”
The vocal tutor coordinator, Adam Prana Surya, expressed his feelings of pride. “All the students who performed on both the first Vocal Recital day and the second Vocal Recital day did their best, even more than what the teachers expected. Apart from many mistakes, both junior and senior. As teachers, and I’m sure other teachers agree, we are very proud of what our students performed.” In his interview, Adam also added the message, “Hopefully this will be the first step for PSM this year and the following years will be even better.”
The audience’s enthusiasm for this Vocal Recital was very high. The audience is invited to experience directly the meaning of each song presented by the singer. Nabila and Syifa as spectators gave their comments regarding this Vocal Recital. “Appreciation to the people involved, the committee and the singers in this Vocal Recital because they are really cool,” She said.
The “Farfalla” Vocal Recital Concert officially ended with the melodious song “Somewhere” as a form of persuasion that there will be a beautiful place and there will be a time when we can go to that place.
