[BANDUNG, unpadchoir.com] – The Padjadjaran University Student Choir (PSM Unpad) is a Student Activity Unit that focuses on artistic activities, particularly vocal arts. PSM Unpad is often assigned to perform at various formal events and protocol occasions at Padjadjaran University. In addition to formal activities, PSM Unpad also frequently holds performances to celebrate important days in Indonesia. One such event was in December 2024, when PSM Unpad celebrated Christmas by organizing a caroling activity.
In December 2024, PSM Unpad held a five-day Caroling event, from December 22 to 26. All Unpad Choir members participated in this event. The participation of singers from different generations demonstrated strong solidarity and a shared vision to spread Christmas joy to the public. Besides providing entertainment, the Caroling also served as a means to strengthen bonds among PSM members and create unforgettable memories.
The first Caroling session was held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Braga Citywalk as part of a fundraising event. The performance started at 4:00 PM and ended at 9:00 PM WIB, where visitors of Braga Citywalk were treated to the distinctive vocal harmonies of PSM, singing Christmas-themed songs. Through this activity, PSM hoped to raise funds to support future organizational activities.
The following day, the Caroling continued at Trans Studio Mall (TSM) with two sessions, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM WIB and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM WIB. On Tuesday, December 24, the Caroling was held at three locations simultaneously: Giur Bistro, Trans Luxury Hotel, and IBIS Hotel Bandung. The performances at these three locations showcased PSM’s flexibility in providing quality entertainment in diverse settings, ranging from restaurants to luxurious hotels.
On Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, PSM performed again at Trans Studio Mall to entertain visitors in two sessions. The mall, which is always crowded during the holiday season, became a strategic location to spread the Christmas spirit to a wide audience. The Caroling event concluded on Thursday, December 26, with a final performance at Trans Studio Mall, also consisting of two sessions.
Beyond being a form of entertainment, the Caroling also served as a way for PSM Unpad to interact with the wider community. Through beautiful voices and harmonious melodies, they brought messages of peace and Christmas joy to various corners of Bandung City. For PSM members, the Caroling was an enriching experience, both musically and emotionally, as they received direct appreciation from the audience. One student from the 2024 batch shared their positive impression of the Caroling activity, saying, “Caroling was so much fun because we all sang Christmas songs. For me, this was an opportunity to share the Christmas joy with the people around me. Additionally, during Caroling rehearsals, I also learned new music lessons,” said Qory.
With a spirit of togetherness and a mission to spread the joy of Christmas, the Caroling event is expected to be even more successful in the future, surpassing achievements from previous years. The dedicated performances by PSM Unpad members not only provided entertainment but also inspired the importance of togetherness and sharing happiness during special moments like Christmas.
